Hospital design and construction: a DtV approach

We believe the initiative gives cause for significant optimism in our conversation about tackling the decarbonisation challenge ahead.. To learn more about our Design to Value approach to design and construction, sign up for our monthly newsletter here:.

What’s the smallest number of times that asset could be touched or processed by people? How productive can those people be?.

Hospital design and construction: a DtV approach

Our goal with P-DfMA is lean construction. We want to remove anything which doesn’t add value. To achieve the best possible results, we must change the way we think, the way we manage materials and people.

Hospital design and construction: a DtV approach

Design must form the entry point, with that particular element of P-DfMA serving as the foundation and pervading principle for everything which follows. We must allow the manufacture and assembly process to drive the way we design the asset in the first place, as well as the way we engage the client and the supply chain..

Integrated design.

Much of the industry’s current difficulty arises from the fact that few people can see the entire process through from end-to-end.We’re now starting to see the rest of the world beginning to look towards an industrialised construction approach.

If we make headway with Platform construction there will be a massive international market available. This could be a real opportunity, if we can join up a few different elements.. With BIM Pro we saw the need to go out and engage with foreign governments, forming a community to promote an approach and process which drives better delivery.

We need to consider what the UK can offer those international markets beyond BIM.We’re very highly regarded in finance and insurance, for example, and those things are required by world leaders who want to deliver infrastructure and construction programmes.
